Yum! Brands, the parent company of well-known quick-service restaurants like KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut, has appointed Rohan Pewekar as the managing director of Pizza Hut in the Indian subcontinent.
The appointment signifies a new phase of leadership as Pewekar takes over the responsibilities of overseeing Pizza Hut’s operations across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
Based in Gurugram, he will focus on expanding the brand’s footprint in these regions.
Pewekar’s career journey

Pewekar’s career journey
Rohan Pewekar, an alumnus of prestigious institutions such as IIM Calcutta and The Wharton School, has been a key figure at Pizza Hut for the past four years. He previously held the role of Chief Strategy and Finance Officer, playing a critical part in the brand’s growth in India.
With nearly 15 years of experience in business-to-consumer (B2C) sectors, Pewekar brings a broad skill set, including expertise in finance, go-to-market strategies, and channel expansion.
Before joining Pizza Hut, he worked with Samsung Electronics India and Accenture Strategy Consulting, where he was involved in market entry strategies, brand launches, and digital transformation.
Focused on expansion and innovation
As Pizza Hut sets its sights on future growth, Pewekar is expected to lead the brand through a phase of strategic expansion and innovation. With nearly 900 restaurants across 200 cities in India, the brand is already well-established.
Commenting on his new role, Pewekar said, “Pizza Hut has seen incredible growth, now reaching close to 900 restaurants across 200+ cities in India, and I am honoured to lead the brand in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.”

Growing opportunities in the food service industry
Pewekar also highlighted the positive momentum in the Indian food services industry, noting that it is currently experiencing double-digit growth.
“The Indian Food Services industry is witnessing double-digit growth, and we are well-positioned to capitalize on this momentum," Pewekar added.
With his experience and leadership, Pewekar aims to further strengthen Pizza Hut’s presence and success in the region.
Pizza Hut operates in India through partnerships with franchisees Devyani International and Sapphire Foods India.
