Sugar Cosmetics co-founder Vineeta Singh, who is also a Shark Tank India judge, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to debunk rumours of her death.
Vineeta Singh shared a screenshot of a report falsely stating, "A hard day for India: We say goodbye to Vineeta Singh." She clarified that she has been dealing with false reports of her death and arrest for five weeks.
Despite ignoring the rumours initially and then reporting them to Meta multiple times and filing a complaint with the Mumbai Crime Branch, the spread of these fake news stories has continued, she said.
"Been dealing with paid PR about my death and my arrest for five weeks. Ignored it at first, then reported to Meta several times, filed a complaint with Mumbai Cyber Police, but it’s not stopping. The hardest part is when people panic and call my mom. A few of the posts are below. Any suggestions?" she wrote.

The post, which has amassed over 100,000 views, caught the attention of Mumbai Police.
"Ma’am, please DM us the details so we can assist you better," the police responded. Vineeta replied, "We spoke. Thank you for the support so far 🙏".
