It's been more than a month after the ban on 59 Chinese apps including the popular short video app TikTok, the chart growth for the TikTok alternatives is ruling in Google Playstore India

Just after the immediate ban on 59 Chinese apps including the most popular short video app TikTok, Indian content space companies like Dailyhunt, MX Media, Gaana, and share chat launched their short video app to give alternatives to the users.

Since the ban on TikTok, These alternatives noticed exponential growth in their user base and downloads including Moj, Mitron, Josh, MX TakaTak, and Chingari. These apps are consistently on the top 10 on Google play store India.

Furthermore, MX TakaTak, a short video app launched by Times Internet owned MX Media, is ranked number 2 on the 'top free' charts. Following its competitors, Moj (launched by Sharechat) and Josh (launched by Dailyhunt) are ranked number six and three respectively.

On the other hand, other short video apps like Chingari and Mitron, which gained a significant amount of downloads by using 'Made in India' tags in the marketing of their app. Currently, both of these apps are under the top 500 apps in the Google play store charts.

Moreover, According to the Sensor Tower data, Roposo, Zilli, and Dubsmash were the biggest gainers of downloads since the ban on TikTok. These three apps collectively gained 22 million downloads, recording a growth of 155% in the three weeks since the ban.

According to the current charts, Snack Video, launched by Kuaishou Technology, backed by Tencent (Chinese firm) is on the top position on play store apps charts. Following MX TakaTak in the 2nd position, Zilli, which is also a Chinese short video app is in 11th position. Moreover, the Chinese short video app, Zilli recorded growth of 167% since the ban on TikTok.

TikTok was holding more than 80% market share of a short video app, its ban has given the opportunities to other short video apps for the immersive growth in less time.
