Bengaluru-based edtech startup Scaler has invested Rs 50 crore towards the development of its newly launched Scaler School of Business (SSB).
The investment aims to create a robust offline infrastructure, design and update the curriculum, establish partnerships with industry, and recruit world-class leaders as coaches, mentors, and instructors.
What is the Scaler School of Business?
The launch of the Scaler School of Business comes in response to challenges highlighted by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP (Deloitte India) in their latest campus workforce trends 2024 study.
The study pointed out high attrition rates among MBA graduates, particularly at entry-level jobs in top-tier campuses. It also emphasized the need for educational institutions to equip students with the diverse skills required to succeed in the digital age.
Traditional MBA programs often focus on theoretical knowledge, which falls short in preparing graduates for the fast-paced business environment.
Scaler School of Business aims to address these issues by offering a curriculum designed by industry leaders for future industry leaders, reflecting the realities of modern tech and innovation-driven businesses.
What does the programme offer?
The Scaler School of Business offers a full-time Postgraduate programme in Management and Technology that combines theoretical rigor with practical application.
The curriculum includes industry-driven evaluations, case studies from partner companies, immersive internships, and exposure to trending technologies such as AI and related industries.
This approach is designed to make graduates significantly more efficient and tech-enabled compared to the average MBA graduate.
Furthermore, the Scaler Innovation Lab, an on-campus incubator, provides students with the opportunity to build and present prototypes, products, apps, and MVPs, showcasing their entrepreneurial and innovative skills to top investment firms.
Who is the programme for?
The programme is designed to cater to both technical and non-technical job opportunities, suitable for working professionals with a few years of experience or even freshers straight out of college.
The founding cohort will consist of a handpicked group of 75 to 100 students, commencing in August 2024.
Scaler's extensive network of over 900 employer-partners, including industry giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Zomato, Airtel, Wells Fargo, and PayPal, will be leveraged to help SSB learners build sustainable careers.
Where is the Scaler School of Business located?
The Scaler School of Business is situated in Electronic City, Bengaluru. This campus also houses the Scaler School of Technology, which offers unique collaboration opportunities between management and technology professionals and provides a comprehensive learning experience for both groups of learners.
Scaler's initiative to launch the Scaler School of Business is a strategic move to address the gaps in traditional MBA programs and better prepare graduates for the demands of modern business environments.
