MG Motor India partners with Epsilon Group to boost EV charging and battery recycling

MG Motor India has announced a partnership with the Epsilon Group to enhance electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. The collaboration involves signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Epsilon subsidiaries: Power EV for charging solutions and LICO for battery recycling and second-life expertise.

What will Power EV do?

Under the agreement, Power EV will provide custom charging technology, including both AC and DC charging solutions specifically designed for MG's electric vehicles.

The initiative is part of the MG charge initiative, which aims to set up 1,000 charging points in 1,000 days across various residential communities and apartments throughout India. The goal is to expand the availability of AC chargers and introduce more high-capacity DC charging options to bolster the existing public charging network.

How will LICO contribute?

LICO's role in the partnership is to assist MG Motor India with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations. They will offer comprehensive services for battery recycling and certification, focusing on both the second-life and end-of-life solutions for batteries. This effort aligns with creating a more sustainable and circular economy within the automotive industry.
