Bengaluru, which is known for its blend of tradition and tech, is witnessing an unexpected clash between a local coconut vendor and major quick commerce platforms.
A street vendor’s ingenious advertisement, showcasing his coconuts priced at “only Rs 55” compared to higher rates on quick commerce giants Aadit Palicha-led Zepto, Zomato-owned BlinkIt, and BigBasket, has stirred a conversation online.
The post was first shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user named 'Nitish Ravella', stating "I see it as motivation to keep doing what you love and remember that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it."
Lots of takeaways in this photo.

Netizens reaction
The post quickly gained traction and has crossed over 14,000 views. Many people took to the comment section to admire the vendor’s strategy and local connection, calling it a 'peak Bengaluru moment.' Yet, others debated the pros of using apps for convenience despite the price difference.
"Big basket daily subscription of tender coconut is 58-60/- Delivers at door step. No delivery charge. So no hassle of driving/walking through dusty roads, save on petrol. All in all 5/- extra is absolutely worth it imo," a user wrote.
"It was ₹40-₹45 at the local shop.. Quick commerce has driven up prices. That's not cool," another wrote.
"If they deliver at home with those prices its definitely a win," a third noted.
"Even 50 is expensive for coconut," a fourth added.
Definitely for a while but gradually consumers will come to know the premium being charged by these quick commerce companies and move to a place who offers better prices.
