Women-focused health and wellness platform Newmi Care raises $1.5 million

Newmi Care, a women-focused health and wellness platform, has raised $1.5 million (or around Rs 12.6 crore) in a seed funding round.

The round was led by Sprout Venture Partners, with participation from a leading family office, LetsVenture, Sarcha Advisors, Key Ventures Forum, and a group of angel investors.

Plans for expansion and innovation

With this round of funding, Newmi Care plans to build more women clinics in northern and western India, aiming to provide enhanced outpatient services.

Additionally, the Gurugram-based startup intends to focus on technological improvements and product innovation and expand the team for further growth. 

What does Newmi Care do?

Founded in May 2022 by Aditi Mittal and Sanchit Agarwal, Newmi Care addresses various women’s health issues, including menstrual, sexual, and hormonal health, fertility, maternity, menopause, and cancers related to women’s reproductive organs.

The startup claims to have serviced over 60,000 women across 400 cities nationwide.

Newmi's market presence

It has also introduced several unique offerings in the market, including women-centric outpatient department (OPD) insurance products in collaboration with major insurers.

Currently, Newmi operates ten clinics in the Delhi/NCR region and plans to significantly expand its footprint.

“We are on a mission to simplify outpatient care for women in India and bring women's health to the forefront. This capital infusion is a step to move closer to our path to solve for women's health at scale in India," the founders said in a joint statement.

Support from investors

Sahil Gupta, Partner at Sprout Venture Partners, highlighted the growing market opportunity for women’s health services in India.

“We see a clear opportunity in building a trusted brand in the women's health lifecycle space. We have seen this play out in some of the other healthcare categories. This will be a large market in future with the growing awareness of health lifecycle amongst the next generation of women,” said Sahil Gupta.

Rohit Chanana, Partner at Sarcha Advisors, also expressed confidence in the founders. "We are proud to back Sanchit and Aditi for building for a wonderful cause. My best wishes to the team in providing positive outcomes to all stakeholders."
