Mumbai-based healthtech startup Neodocs has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Omidyar Network India, Y Combinator, and 9 Unicorns, alongside other notable investors. 

The startup, which specializes in developing smartphone-based health test kits, allows users to conduct various health tests from the comfort of their homes, using just their smartphones and a test card.

Targeting international markets 

Neodocs will focus on enhancing its product lineup, particularly focusing on its kidney care and urinary tract infections (UTI) kits. Additionally, the startup has launched a new product: an instant finger-prick blood test that promises to deliver quick results directly on a user's smartphone.

The raised capital will help the startup expand its presence into international markets, including Europe, Australia, the Middle East, the Philippines, and the United States, to address the global need for accessible and easy-to-use diagnostic solutions, as per the company's statement. 

Partnership with leading pharma companies

Neodoc claims to have partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies such as Cipla, Sun Pharma, AstraZeneca, and others. The startup said that these partnerships have been crucial in standardizing test results across various conditions, making the tests more reliable and accessible.

Furthermore, It is working closely with the governments of Maharashtra and Rajasthan to bring digital testing to remote areas of India.

Empowering Preventive Healthcare

The founders of Neodocs, Nikunj Malpani, Anurag Meena, and Pratik Lodha, envision a future where healthcare is proactive rather than reactive. Neodocs empower doctors to screen and diagnose patients swiftly, facilitating immediate treatment.

This approach not only enhances patient care but also aims to shift the healthcare paradigm towards preventive measures, potentially transforming the landscape of global health diagnostics, it said.

Neodocs said it has sold over 200,000 test cards and garnered the support of more than 4,000 doctors across India. The startup now aims to sell over 10 million test kits by next year.
