Mumbai-based esports media platform TalkEsport today announced the closure of its pre-series A funding round, raising $1 million from Saswat Ventures.
Founded in 2011, TalkEsport claims to be India's oldest esports media platform. It provides news and updates related to gaming communities worldwide.
The company said it caters to millions of gamers worldwide through its website and social media channels.
What is the purpose of fundraising?
TalkEsport plans to use the investment to scale up its core website, launch a highly interactive application for its audience, and set up a state-of-the-art production studio in Mumbai, the release notes.
Through this, the company will launch exclusive content IPs focused on gaming and esports.

Trilochan Sharma, a seasoned expert in compliance matters, will join TalkEsport's board as the Director of Compliance. His wealth of experience will ensure adherence to regulatory standards and bolster the company's governance framework, the company said in a statement.
Launching a production studio in Mumbai
TalkEsport has also unveiled its state-of-the-art production studio in Mumbai. The facility will serve as the epicentre for creating high-quality esports content, launching content IPs, live broadcasts, interviews, and immersive gaming experiences.
Upcoming mobile app launch
Furthermore, TalkEsport is gearing up for the launch of its mobile application soon. The app aims to redefine how gamers access news, engage with esports communities, and participate in live tournaments, all from the convenience of their mobile devices.
